DOOR COUNTY ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS AT CAVE POINT | STACY & STEVE

door-county-engagement-photos-001 We met Stacy & Steve at Cave Point in Door County for their engagement photos on a crisp fall evening. Cave Point is one of the County's most iconic destinations and, on this particular day, the giant waves were crashing and giving us quite a show! :) Door County was the most perfect location for Stacy & Steve's engagement photos as it also allowed them to soak in a relaxing weekend in the county to enjoy the fall colors!!

We had been looking forward to Stacy & Steve's session not just because we knew the two of them are awesome and we would have fun together in this beautiful place, but also because they were bringing along a special little someone who we simply couldn't WAIT to meet! How adorable is their goldendoodle pup, Jordy!?! He melted our hearts immediately and was such a good boy while we were taking pictures throughout the session. He effortlessly managed to make at least 15 friends because everyone who passed by couldn't continue on without giving his sweet, fluffy face a few pets!! It's no secret that we are also giant dog lovers, so this only made us love Stacy & Steve even more. :) We are so excited to be a part of their family farm wedding next June in Central Wisconsin!!

Love, Kelsy & Butch

DOOR COUNTY ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS | KARYN & TOM!

door-county-engagement-photos-film-001 This engagement session was kind of like a dream. One of those really good dreams that you want to relive over & over!!

When we arrived at Tom's Mom's house in Sturgeon Bay, we knew a few things to be true: Karyn & Tom are awesome, they have an adorable pup named Weasley, and Tom's Mom's house is on the water in beautiful Door County. Those three things alone had us feeling SO excited for Karyn & Tom's engagement session!! Little did we know, we would be photographing them along one of the loveliest tucked away parts of the County on a private dock, with dunes across the Bay that looked like we were in Cape Cod. And, this was only to be followed by more costal beauty as we inched our way along Bayshore drive over to The Alpine Resort!

Together, Karyn & Tom are affectionate and adorable, and Weasley had us all smiling non-stop with his bow tie and his cute little self! :) We cannot thank these two enough for spending the evening with us and are already looking forward to their Door County wedding next May at the stunning Horseshoe Bay Golf Club!

DOOR COUNTY BASEBALL THEMED WEDDING | KIM & STEW!

Earlier this month we had the distinct honor of photographing Kim & Stew's wedding in Door County, and it is one that we have been dying to present to you! Kim and Stew just returned home from a honeymoon in the Bahamas, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome them back as Mr & Mrs with a huge preview of their wedding photos!! Kim and Stew are two of the most charming, laid-back, and fun-loving people we know! When it came to their wedding day they were non-stop smiles and an absolute JOY to photograph!! To be honest, it didn't really feel like we were "working" at all, but more like we were friends who played an important role in their big day.

Kim had two familiar faces helping prepare her hair & make-up as she transformed into a stunning bride. Tom Preston & Lee Ann Perrine also took care of her as Miss Wisconsin 2010 in the beauty department and, to no surprise, they did an Amazing job -- Kim was absolutely Striking!! With no exaggeration, Stew had the BEST reaction when he set eyes on his bride for the first time as she walked down the aisle of St. Joseph's Catholic Church on her Dad's arm!!! We are quite sure you will know exactly what we mean when your eyes come across the images below ;)

K&S not only brought their love of baseball to their Door County engagement session, but also to their wedding day which was complete with ticket-styled invitations, a jersey guest book, and Cracker Jack favors!! With help from Alliey of Sash & Bow, Kim & Stew infused Stone Harbor Resort with a touch of America's pastime, and lots of class. From purple uplighting & elegant chair covers to the incredible shores of Door County, Kim and Stew's wedding day was a gorgeous escape!

We are SO excited to have photographed not only Kim & Stew, but the entire cast of their friends & family!! From the bottom of our heart, thank you two for including us in your celebration!!!

CAUGHT UP IN AN IMAGE

It's funny how the schedule of a wedding photographer plays out. Of course some months are busier than others. You can go from 110 mph to about 30 mph in a matter of two months. You fall in love with the personalities & stories of so many incredible individuals & couples... And then a few months later (or in this case 6 months later - gosh time flies!) you come across a particular image that, looking back, speaks volumes to the two of them and the way they love each other. Happy weekend, friends! We hope you stay warm :)

MEET THE MCCARTNEYS!

Today we are absolutely beaming and beyond thrilled to announce a rebranding for The McCartneys Photography! This is a little something that has been MONTHS in the making, and not being able to share has been so hard! But the process has been exciting, uplifting and very motivating! Website. Brand. Collateral. Blog. It's all new!! And it's all us! Backing things up a little bit... After Butch proposed (Christmas 2007!) we started thinking about what we wanted our wedding to look like, and we knew that we wanted to have an elegant yet cozy feel in all of the collateral. We asked a huge favor of Butch's sister Stevi and she designed all of our wedding collateral (save the dates, invitations, you name it)! We loved her design SO much that we carried elements of that over into our previous branding, and it left us with a look that we felt very connected to... A brand that fit us well for the first few years once we took our business full-time... A brand that grew and evolved with us and had such special meaning to us and to our marriage :)

Fast forward to today... We were ready for a change. As we have grown in our business, we found ourselves ready for a look that was a bit more polished and powerful, while still maintaning the organic & approachable feel of our previous brand. Who else to turn to than the one person who knows us inside & out and is incredibly gifted in all elements of graphic design -- our sister Stevi! While walking us through the entire process she created a look for us that is clean, complete, and 100% us. From our logo down to envelopes and our product packaging, we feel whole and are just giddy over the final product. We could not be more excited to present to you the new look of The McCartneys Photography!! Thank you so much for taking a peek :D
