How absolutely gorgeous is this lovely lady!? :) We had so much fun photographing Christina in our studio – she was such a natural in front of our cameras and we just couldn't get enough of the looks she was giving us!! Shawn of Design Lab asked us if we'd like to photograph some of his creative bouquets, and we couldn't have imagined a more beautiful bride to pair them with! When we sit down and think about where this year went, we don't have an immediate answer. It truly flew by faster than any other! Amidst the craziness of bouncing around the midwest to photograph weddings & engagements, we also had some pretty awesome milestones in our personal lives!! Parker James joined our little family on Valentine's Day and he has since been the source of 90% of our smiles! Not long after we became puppy parents, we decided that our little man needed a house! After years of searching for the perfect one, we purchased our first home at the very beginning of wedding season in May. Upon further review, this may not have been the most ideal time to move and make our new house a home, but we wouldn't have it any other way!! We tend to dive in head first and follow our hearts without looking back -- that is exactly how we decided to take our photography business full-time four years ago, and apparently how we make all major life decisions ;)
We also tend to pour our hearts into our photography. The connections we make with the remarkable couples who come our way make it especially easy to get wrapped up in the emotions of their day and be completely invested in them! This year brought so much clarity and change into the way we are photographing weddings, engagements and portraits alike. Falling in love with film all over again has revolutionized our hearts and our business, and for this we couldn't possibly be more grateful!! 2012 really was a giant leap for us, our business, and our little family of three. The relationships & friendships we've made this year alone make us feel absolutely blessed to do what we do, and we cannot even wait to see all of the goodness that 2013 has lined up!!!!

Ellen and Adam fit perfectly together. They are both extremely thoughtful & intelligent, absolutely loving, and after being around them for a matter of minutes you can immediately tell that they truly appreciate one another for exactly who they are! Their wedding day had a lovely mix of rain and the most gorgeous sunset we have ever seen -- which led to all of us doing backflips over the beautiful setting where we were able to photograph the two of them and their awesome wedding party! We are over-the-moon excited to share the images we created with Ellen & Adam and couldn't be more grateful to have been a part of their wedding celebration!!

From the moment Kris mentioned "nautical" and "backyard" in the same sentence, we were especially excited for her & Nick's wedding day!! They are one of the sweetest couples ever and we absolutely adore Nick's family, so we had no doubt their wedding was going to be a stunning celebration! We also had the honor of photographing Nick's two sisters' weddings within the last few years, and it is safe to say that this family knows how to plan one heck of a wedding! ;) Kris & Nick were married on Nick's parents' beautiful land in Sturgeon Bay, which also doubles as the grounds for their landscaping business! With the help of their families, Kris & Nick put so much of themselves into their wedding day and we loved hearing all about it in our weekly email conversations leading up to their big day!! From brewing their own beer for their guests to enjoy, designing their invitations and decorating a perfectly white tent, we aren't quite sure how they managed to do it all! They even gifted all of their guests a brand new tree to take home and plant!
The feeling and energy of Kris & Nick's wedding day fit them perfectly -- a relaxed yet personalized celebration with their closest friends & family. And when you combine two people that have the most caring personality like Kris & Nick, everything else is icing on the cake! They are such a beautiful, genuine couple and their day was absolutely perfect!!

With permanent smiles written across our faces, last week we posted a little preview of our excitement over a sweetly styled shoot with Anna of A.Styled Event. The inspiration behind this intimate brunch wedding came about earlier this year as Anna & I chatted through our computers on a snowy morning, surely in our pajamas and with coffee in hand. Apparently we were hungry and ready for wedding season to begin, as we were dreaming of sweet details and hints of maple syrup! ;) After months of sharing ideas back & forth like giddy schoolgirls, our inspiration shoot came to with help from an incredible team of WI wedding pros! Taylor Rae created the most perfect place cards, menus and calligraphy for the invitations, which were designed by Anna's husband Paul! Randy of Evolutions in Design completely blew us away with a truly stunning floral centerpiece, bouquet & bout. Jaxie shared her sweet talent, as our bride wore a custom designed birdcage veil and hair piece. Anna brought this shoot to life and created more elements than we can possibly begin to describe -- a bunting cake topper & handmade polka dotted napkins, oversized pillows, gold touches & more!!!
So, here you have it. A beautiful field setting. The perfect mix of cozy and lovely. A casual and romantic yet inviting picnic style celebration. Hints of fresh fruit & sweet treats. An adorable bride & groom. We hope that brides are able to find a bit of inspiration from the details and ideas that Anna poured into our brunch wedding! A huge thank you to all of the incredible vendors & friends who brought this shoot to life!! We had a absolute blast photographing every piece of it. For us, the icing on the cake was having our waffle wedding featured the lovely Southern Weddings Blog!
