This cute-as-can-be little lady just turned ONE!! To celebrate the occasion with photos, we had the absolute pleasure of meeting the Larsens in Door County. After photographing Kim & Stew's Door County wedding and milestones along the way with their two sweet girls, Maggie & Annie, we've grown to adore this family more and more, and always look forward to their portrait sessions (here, here and here). Like Butch, Kim & Stew both grew up in Door County, so as soon as Kim mentioned a Door County session we were completely on board! :) For us, the County is an oasis of relaxation, fun, family, and inspiration... not to mention it is one of our favorite places in the Midwest to photograph! When their session arrived, we were absolutely thrilled to have the most beautiful spring day for portraits on Kim & Stew's family's farm. Maggie was twirling in the most vibrant dress while Annie's non-stop smiles & giggles had us all beaming!! Creating images for this sweet family, our dear friends, in a location that holds so much meaning to their family was not only a blast, but an absolute honor. This post is for all of the Mom's out there making their kids, big or small, feel loved and empowered day-in and day-out. We're both pretty lucky in the Mom-department. Ours are not only hardworking and loving, but funny, FUN, and they have become our best friends. Happy Mother's Day!! :)

This family portrait session includes three of our very favorite things: Door County's gorgeous fall colors, an ADORABLE family who we are lucky to call great friends, and Butch's parents beautiful land in Jacksonport! It warms our hearts watching this family grow, spending time with them, and especially getting to take photos that they will cherish for a lifetime. :)
Cain, Terry, Olive, Stella, and Ruby are an example of the kind of family we one day hope to have. Especially after spending the day with them earlier this month, as we had a blast goofing around during the session and also enjoying a cookout and giant bonfire with them afterwards (complete with s'mores, of course)!! So much love to this beautiful family!
