KIRSTEN & GENE | LAKE SUPERIOR MICHIGAN ENGAGEMENT

As a nursing student, Kirsten met Gene’s sister who thought that she hands down must meet her brother, Gene. K&G ended up chatting on the phone for three hours!! Since Gene was living in Indianapolis at the time, Kirsten took a weekend trip to visit him with the mentality that if things weren’t going as expected, she could always stay with her cousin ;)

Lucky for the two of them, they hit it off right away and were engaged six months later! Truly, Gene bought Kirsten’s ring on a Saturday and his sister wanted to see it so he brought it home with him for Thanksgiving weekend and then realized… what is the point in waiting any longer to put this on Kirsten’s finger?! Of course she said yes, and we are SO excited to be a part of their Wausau wedding this August!

Kirsten & Gene are both super mellow and easy going with a great sense of humor, and we were pumped when they invited us up to Ontonagon MI (Gene’s hometown!) for their engagement session on Lake Superior with s’mores, snuggling, and a perfect campfire on the beach!! :)

Earlier this week we had fun playing with Andrea during her senior model session! We scouted two killer locations and were pumped that she was up for doing anything we could throw at her ;) Photographing Andrea was absolute bliss!! She is such a sweetheart and we were doing complete backflips after her session! We cannot wait to spend time with her again this summer for her full session!! We have no doubt that there is even more style and fun to come :)

SARA & BRIAN | SPRING MATERNITY PORTRAITS

You might remember Sara from her stunning snowy maternity session earlier this year :) Last weekend we had the opportunity to photograph two of our very best friends during an incredible time in their lives! And this time around, we wanted to include Sara’s darling hubby Brian and adorable pug pup Lucy! Sara and Brian are due with baby Lennon in TWO weeks and we are completely bursting with excitement for them!!!!!! It feels like that Sunday morning when they told us they were pregnant was just yesterday… now they’ve created the worlds cutest nursery for Lennon and their bags are packed & ready to welcome an undoubtedly adorable bundle of joy into their lives! We cannot WAIT to meet, love on, snuggle with, and of course photograph baby Lennon as soon as he arrives!!!

Sara & Brian, you two are the BEST friends we could ask for and we feel so blessed to have you in our lives!! XOXO! :D

KASSIDY | DCE SENIOR

AMY & JESSE | SPRING WISCONSIN ENGAGEMENT

From the very first time we chatted with Amy on the phone, we immediately knew that she & Jesse were going to be a couple that we just couldn’t wait to work with & get to know! These two put so much thought and planning into their engagement session, and we would be lying if we didn’t confess that each of them made us (Kelsy) do a little happy dance! Included in their planning was Amy’s grandparents’ handmade quilt & vintage croquet set (love!!) as well as a little cupcake cuteness made by Amy’s friend, and this was the perfect recipe for a fun Friday evening session.

Amy’s laugh is completely contagious, and Jess knows exactly how to pull it out of her :) We are so looking forward to more laughs, adorably planned out details, and sweet glances at their Door County wedding next month!!

A MOMENTARY AFTERNOON AWAY

Here at the McCartney household we’ve got all sorts of directions pulling this way and that. These changes are hugely exciting and can’t come soon enough, but have been consuming our minds with excitement and worry (more on that later). Today we escaped reality for a moment, laughed and completely forgot about everything except each other :) A release much welcomed! What was the spark? Kelsy walked over to me early this afternoon, and with the kinda smile where she knows she’s being adorable, asks me, “Do you want to take some pictures of me?!!” … Well, now how can I resist ;)

JANA & CHRIS | SPRING WAUSAU ENGAGEMENT

Earlier this month on the most perfect springy Saturday, we had fun playing with Jana and Chris during their engagement session! We’ve known Jana for years and were SO excited when her and Chris got engaged… possibly even more excited when she started talking about pictures with us!!

Chris’ family is huge into racing in Wausau so it was only natural that we spent time at State Park Speedway together, followed by a natural setting just before sunset :) Jana & Chris are getting married this November in Mexico, and we were honored to kick off their wedding celebration with a beautiful engagement session!

PRINCE PARKER

Sometimes I really wonder what our lives were like pre-Parker. He is THE happiest little man we know, and he makes us smile non-stop :) We can’t even walk down the street without making a new friend because Parker just loves everyone and cannot go on without a quick hello!

We spent the early part of this week in MN for an in-home dog session, and on our way back we made a pit-stop in Stillwater in search of new crushed-velvet Victorian style chairs. We are SO psyched about what we came home with, and apparently Parker is too ;)

LOBSTERS ON THE PORCH

Yesterday we received the most awesome thank you “card” in the mail from our latest bride & groom, Ashley & Adam. When we pulled up to the house, Butch went to walk Parker, and Kelsy said out loud, “Hunny I think we got something fun in the mail! … I think it’s a lobster!” Butch continued to walk Parker assuming Kelsy was crazy… But when he got back into the house and they opened the styrofoam “time-sensitive-must-deliver-on-first-attempt-mr-UPS-man” package, and heard Kelsy SSSHHHHREEIK!!, he knew that she was right. We received two giant Lobsters in the mail. And they were ALIVE! From MAINE! Um. WOW!

What happened over the next few hours will be engrained in our memory banks forever. The laughs we shared together were SO much fun! To think that the pictures we took on someone’s wedding day moved them enough to express their gratitude with a LobsterGram absolutely fills us with joy. All we can say is Thank You, Ashley & Adam, for filling our townhome with so many smiles, screams, and moments of complete we-don’t-have-any-idea-what-we’re-doing FUN!!!! You completely made our weekend and we are so grateful! :D
