SNOWY FILM FUN IN WAUSAU & DOOR COUNTY!

It’s that time of the year (or maybe even passed that time of the year?!) where everyone is beyond ready to see green grass, feel the warmth of sunshine, and hear happily chirping birds through their windows. But before all of the snow melts and our boots are put away for the season, we wanted to share some of the snowy fun we enjoyed with our family this winter!

Over the years, our parents & family members have really become our best friends. We look forward to cook-outs, holidays, dinner dates, and weekend trips with them even more now that we are grown-ups ourselves (when did that happen?) and value family more than anything! It just so happens that our families mesh together seamlessly, and Martin-McCartney get togethers are always filled with SO much laughter, yummy food & drinks, stories, and great company :) It always leaves us looking forward to the next time we can get both of our families together!!

A snowy hike on Rib Mountain & homemade pizza night at our house was our most recent get together, and we’re hoping for another significantly less snowy cook-out soon! We wanted to share a few laughter-filled film images of our pizza night/hike mixed in with snowy images from our most recent trip to Door County! Now that we got these images out of our system, we’re ready for Spring… when ever it decides to arrive ;)

LAKESIDE ENGAGEMENT SESSION | STACEY & MAX ON FILM

Stacey & Max invited us to Stacey’s parents’ absolutely beautiful and especially cozy cottage in western WI for their engagement session! The cottage is perfectly surrounded by towering pines and is RIGHT on the lake, which had us excited from the moment we arrived. We couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect place to photograph the two of them!! Stacey & Max are naturally super cute together, and it was fun to spend time with another couple who works side by side just like we do — they’re both music/theater teachers! We can’t wait to visit this exact spot in just three months to document Stacey & Max’s lakeside wedding celebration :)

CENTRAL WISCONSIN ENGAGEMENT SESSION | ASCHLEY & JEFF ON FILM

As we chatted back & forth bouncing around engagement session ideas with Aschley & Jeff, they mentioned Jeff’s parents’ beautiful home in Marshfield. And the minute they said land, trees & lots of window, we were SOLD!! When we arrived we were greeted by three absolutely adorable puppies, racing towards us at full puppy speed, and they brought so much cute energy to Aschley & Jeff’s session! We had so much fun spending the afternoon with these two and absolutely cannot WAIT for their Wausau wedding in August!!

PS – you would never know it by how cozy they look in these images, but Aschley & Jeff mark the very first couple who we’ve had participate in the Polar Bear Plunge the MORNING of their session!! ;)

SNOWY ROMANTIC WINTER WEDDING INSPIRATION SHOOT

Last week we shared especially exciting news about a romantic winter wedding inspiration shoot that we were lucky to be a part of along with many talented Wisconsin creatives!! The very first images from this shoot were featured on the lovely Elizabeth Anne Designs (we hope you stopped by to take a peek!!), and we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect way to reveal our snowy little gem to you!

From a one-of-a-kind lace gown designed & handcrafted by Monirose to a beautiful custom hairpiece by Plume & Lace, paired with thoughtful creative styling by Anna of A.Styled Event and lavish rich florals created by Marius Bell Floral & Events, we cannot emphasize how much of an ABSOLUTE HONOR it was to capture these images!!!!!! Our gorgeous models, Lea & Tricia (who are real-life sisters!!) and our groom Alex were both a joy and a BLAST to photograph, and the very sweet Taylor Buth did their make-up to perfection!!

At the Schlitz Audobon Nature Center on a perfectly snowy Sunday, we were all like kids in one giant candy store – no timeline to adhere to, no rules, just all of us in our element!! Styling pretty details, arranging stunning florals, creating artful images, and models donning beautiful attire, with smiles on our faces every second :D We are so grateful for all that were involved with this little labor of love – a huge and heartfelt thank you to each of you, friends!! Our hope is that these images might serve as a bit of inspiration for midwest brides who are longing for a gorgeous winter wedding… perhaps even filled with rich gold & cranberry touches!! ;)

DENVER COLORADO | A MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE ON FILM

A Valentine’s Day in the Mountains. Really, could it get any more perfect than that!? We were beyond thrilled to spend a day exploring the massive Colorado mountains we were surrounded by! After grabbing a coffee at a little shop we fell in love with and “adopted” as our own for the week, we hopped in the truck and headed West. Evergreen was calling with giant snowflakes slowly floating down from the sky, and with loaded cameras & excitement running all the way through our toes we were on our way to answer! The mountains have a way of rendering us speechless, so we would love to share a peek (ha! no pun intended ;) at our lovely Valentine’s Day surrounded by the Rockies!!

PS – Wondering what we did with the rest of our days in Denver? Check it out over here! :)
